Happy Weekend

This weekend I am back in KC. I know this blog is Palm Beach eclectic but I feel like the past couple weeks I've spent more time in Kansas. Saturday I am hitting the thrift shops with my bestie, Lacey, and maybe we will mix it up a little and throw in a new fabric store. I still need new cushions for these ladies so I am on the hunt. I hope you have a fabulous weekend with lots of surprises.

Did you know each of these pretty little eggs held a surprise inside? As if the pretty on the outside wasn’t enough, inside there was a personal memento for the recipient. Check the story here and here.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Megan, my sister, and I were born only 16months and 2 weeks apart. We have shared everything from the day she was born but, somehow, we could not be more stylistically different. She lives on the west coast in Portland, Oregon home to food trucks and hippies. I live on the east coast in Palm Beach home to the preppiest of the preppy.

When she finally decided that she needed to start buying some "grown up" furniture I was totally onboard to help her pick out a few pieces. The only problem is that our styles aren't exactly in sync and she had no clue what she wanted. The only things she insisted on was a purple couch and that she didn’t like lamps with shades.
SERIOUSLY?! She doesn’t want lamps with shades? Who says that?

Anyway… I think we decided to go with a cozy Bohemian Library. Meg likes music and books so I want her 1000sq/ft apartment to be a place where she can snuggle in but also where she can have her friends over for dinner.

Looking for inspiration was a little harder than I thought it would be since this is not a style I am immediately drawn to for myself. The one common theme I kept coming across was beautiful collected details. They have a pretty sense of history and wanderlust you cant help but get drawn into. I may be a bohemian convert.
I even found lamps without lampshades but those will have to wait until next week.

It's all Topsy-Turvy

I had a very different post planned for today but when I came across this wallpaper on Anthro's website I had to share.

It is so pretty and victorian from far away but when you get up close it surprises you.  I love that.

Who Needs Easter Eggs

Who needs easter eggs when you have this eye candy in every shape, size and color?  AMAZING...right?!?!

Last week I read every Spitzmiller design is hand thrown and refined by Christoper himself.  Once perfected, his crew of master artisans craft each lamp from molds trimming them individually.  His glazes come in an amazing palette of colors and bases are hand gilded.  With all this taking about six weeks to complete, these busy bunnies produce no more than 60 lamps each month to ensure the insane level of quality.
That said, the prices are set accordingly (approx. $850-$3000) and, as much as I love them, there is no way I could convincing my husband that we need a pair.  Mortgage payment OR AMAZING twin lamps?

But look how adorable he is.  Easter bunny's got nothing on him.

Blueberry pancakes

My husband's alarm went off at 6AM this morning.  Not cool!
It is Friday which means we get to sleep in until 7 and now I have been lying here for 49 minutes thinking of blueberry pancakes.  After 39 minutes, blueberry pancakes turned into blueberry pancakes from Howley's Restaurant and now that's all I can think about and they probably don't open for another million hours.

Howley's is a delicious 1950's diner at 4700 S. Dixie Hwy.  It's just a little too far away from us though so, we don't get to go every week.  They have all the 1950's classics, from mac and cheese to meatloaf.  We normally show up for breakfast though.

And yes, I am that girl who takes random pics of restaurants.  Don't ask.

New Patio Chairs!

In honor of the first day of spring, I am heading outside to introduce you to these pretty ladies. Meet my new web spun patio chairs. I snagged them at Palm Beach Regency a few weeks ago.
I have been wanting to get some new patio seating for a while now.  We have been having great weather here lately and our old rusty table just wasn’t cutting it.
I was envisioning something a little more colorful and relaxing ( and a little less tetanus inducing).
They do need a quick sanding and a little spray paint but nothing major.  The web spun chairs are fiberglass so great for the salty Florida air. Now time to pick a cushion fabric.

Shine by SHO Showroom

I know this company has been around for a  while now but, have you checked out Shine by SHO lately?  I got a friendly reminder their flagship showroom is opening in California today and I totally wish I could go see in person.

Suite 102
Each piece is so unique and sculptural. They are definitely worth designing a room around.

I think I obsessed over  this console for almost 2 years. Seeing it again I am kicking myself I didn't break down and get it when it popped up on GILT last year.

I love the retro vibe on this.  It is calling out for a DIY.

Modern Nautical?  I will never turn down stripes.

I don't know if its the color or the cool 70's thing going on but I keep coming back to this couch.

Check them out! I'd love to hear what your favorite piece is.
